Selina has been involved in a number of projects to promote slings and in 2016 worked as BBC EastEnders Sling Advisor, consulting on all matters relating to slings. She was involved in Stacey’s Postpartum Psychosis storyline and worked with the team advising on sling choice, safety, positioning and the physical, emotional and psychological reasons for carrying, working on set during filming.  The number of parents using slings is on the increase, therefore it’s important for TV shows to represent this well.

Selina has written for the Mental Health Charity, Mind (link) about her experience of using a sling and her receovery from Postnatal Depression.  You can read this here: http://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/your-stories/surviving-postnatal-depression/#.WG-UMn2fZog

She has taken part in a film for Best Beginnings, talking about how slings and mindfulness supported her recovery from postnatal depression. The film is going to be used for educational purposes for the NHS and to show to parents in pregnancy and postnatally.

Due to the impact using a sling has made to her own journey and recovery through postnatal depression, Selina has a particular interest in the difference slings can make to families experiencing Perinatal Mental Illnesses.
